The basmalah calligraphed in the style of the majdhub calligrapher-saint, Shaykh Muhammad b. al-Qasim al-Qandusi (qaddasa Allahu sirrahu). This piece was done according to the Shaykh’s own version from his transcription of Imam al-Jazuli’s Dala’il al-Khayrat completed on 14 Ramadan 1244/28 March 1829, with some artistic differences according to our understanding of the Shaykh’s style.
